Picked about 5a.c. today it seems to be turning out pretty good. Had to use my one row 309 N.I. Finaly got my injector pump for my case hope to get it on monday. Has any body else started picking yet ?
Here in SW Minnesota I picked a couple of loads on Saturday the 11th. I was just itchin' to try out that mounted New Idea 319/322 picker that I bought last year right after harvest. So far, everything worked just fine - corn is in the low to mid 20's for moisture. I'll get back at it in a couple of days - we had some rain over the weekend and it's too wet now. I'll try to get some pictures taken and posted later.
TOM I finished that field yesterday. I found another 305 and a 309 elevator unit i can get for 700.00 . I realy don't need it but it's in good shape and it's only 10mi. from me . I think i also a grinder? Does the grinder mount like the elavator and will it mount on my 305 gathering unit ?
The 317 grinder will fit on the 305 gathering unit just fine. It mounts up the same way as a snapper hopper or sheller unit does. The drive for it is a little different than the other units. If you plan on using it much make sure you have it mounted on a tractor with some horsepower. An M Farmall or an AC WD-45 work fine with the husking beds but if you want to grind corn you better put a Farmall 706-806 or a JD 3020-4020 under there! And even then you may have to go slow in today's 150-200 bushel corn!
