New Idea 323 husking bed parts

Where can I find the replacement rubber fingers for a husking bed on a 323.  I found this picker and got the guy down to $1600.  He says all it needs are three new ( I don't know what they are called) rings with the rubber fingers.  I had one guy tell me they were $80.00 each.

Where can I find them???

On edit:::  I just spoke with my local AGCO dealer and he said $49.00 each.

Now what do yall think about the picker.  It's 800 miles away.

Is this a good price for this picker???

What should I pay for the replacement fingers???

Thanks

Chris

They're all dry rotted and all need to be replaced.  Roller segments  in the husking bed are probably on the way out.  (For future reference, you can make new segments out of old bias-ply tire sidewalls with the right size hole saw) It's been sitting outside, bearings are probably full of water (been there, done that).  Even here in the northeast that's at most an $800 picker.

Thanks for the info.  Problem is they are few and far between here in Alabama.  When you do find one in this shape the price starts @ $2500 and goes up.

I have to agree with Tim. I couldn't imagine paying that much here (Western NY) for a picker let alone drive that far for one. Then again I am not familiar with Alabama and if you can get a $2500 picker for $1600 then go for it. Sure is a long way to go for one. That alone would be a deal killer for me.
It makes me glad that I only paid $85 for my 1PR and only paid $75 for the New Idea 325 with the 314 sheller. Both were at auctions. I had NO intentions of buying the New Idea. I didn't even look it over before hand. I was standing the next row over and heard how low the bid was so i started running over to it and yelled and got it. Sure it was well used but all I have put into it were a couple of belts and I picked with it this past fall. Best part is both pickers were less than 20 miles away from me.

Yeah, I've been looking for a picker since January.  There aren't any farm auctions within 300-400 miles of where I live that have had pickers listed.  Too far to drive and then it be a piece of junk or not win the bid.

I did find one in South Carolina (400 miles) that they guy (equipment dealer) wants $2250 for.  It has had a rattle can paint job and I don't know what the paint is hiding.  I can't post pictures from work so I'll do that tonight.

Like I said I don't mind driving for a good one.  I was prepared for the 800 mile road trip to Pennsylvania this weekend until you guys pointed out the repairs that needed to be made on the husking bed of the 323 that I was going to buy.

If you guys know where I can buy one, or one of you has one for sale I might be interested.

Chris

Here are the pictures of the one I found 400 miles away.  He wants $2250 for it.

On edit:  Notice the fresh paint and brace on the nosecone.

The one on the bottom is the oldest, I can tell by the style of the lettering. However, other than the rust, it looks to have the least wear. Beware of new paint . . . . often used to hide wear or welds. That brace on the snoot of the one picker won't let it float right. Probably dug it into the ground and messed up the brackets underneath and didn't attempt to fix it right. If you do get a picker that has been outside, I suggest getting a needle attachment for your grease gun and flushing the bearings.
