Here's some pics of the new picker. It's all free and not in too bad shape. I'm looking for a manual for it if anybody has one. I also put in a picture of our farm; we'll be moving there for good early next year. Kurt
We are unbelievably fortunate to have the farm we do. It's 80 acres, about 15 tillable and the rest pasture and draws. A friend of ours has about 40 or so heifers on the pasture now and plants the other 15 with the rest of his rented ground. (About 500 acres) He's about the best you could ask for; he mows regularly, rotates the herd, and is more than happy to help me with whatever I need. He also plants a couple rows of sunflowers for the doves and a couple rows of sweetcorn. Next year I'll ask him to leave a couple rows of his corn standing so I can try out the picker; I'm sure he'll be more than happy to. I think he gets a kick out of me playing with my antique stuff. There's a picture of my 60 all crop and an old Case DI I'm working on now. The ford NAA I completely restored, and just put on a Sherman Power digger backhoe and a Wagner loader. I can't seem to find any pics of my Alllis WD. I'll have to get some.
FYI, that is a 66 All Crop. She looks like shes in darn good shape.

Sorry about that, I know it's a 66. A 66 big bin no less! My typing isn't all that great sometimes. I took off the drapers to store them for the winter and keep them from the mice, but I think that may have been a mistake; I think putting them on will be quite a chore! i have the wheat screens and bean screens, but I need to find (or make) the oat screen. Kurt
Combine looks really nice and that Case has one heck of a loader on it. The DI will look neet all restore, I like the old Case tractor because that what I got my start on (300 Triple Range), I started plowing with it in the third grade. I have a 430 with loader and a Super 400 Diesel that I need to get up and running.
An interesting story of the Case DI: when we picked it up, it didn't have much power and the guy said it didn't have any compression on one cylinder. I figured that a valve was stuck or something; no big deal because the tractor was real cheap anyway. I ran it when I got home and the loader worked like the mule it is, and then checked out the cylinder a little more thoroughly. Yep, no compression at all. So, we opened the inspection plate on the side of the engine and checked out the cylinder from the inside and found that it was missing the whole darn piston!, rod and all! I'm really hoping the crank isn't destroyed or something. We'll see this summer and I'll be sure to let you know! Kurt
My first picker was a #7 n.i. just like my grandfather. Shells about 14 b.p.a. in the row reguardless of how i adjusted it . Also the snapping rolls tend to chew off corn stalks if the conditions are right, as aposed to the newer super pickers. still a great picker.
I'll be back at the farm in two weeks and check out the lot number for you then. I thought I had it written down somewhere, but I can't find it now. Kurt
