Hi Ron we have pushed back the picking show back to next weekend on the 31of Oct and the 1st of Nov. So we are still going to have it !! It has been amayzing the amount of phone calls that we have gotten and the people just coming out join in ! I think it is going to be better than I thought even with the weather and year like it has been !
We are getting a little rain so far but if we can get out of tom. without to much we will at least pick on Sunday! As it stands we are going ahead and having the show , it might just be a show and tell !! LOL So bring your toys or come look at others and have some fun talking about it!
Hello, corn picker friends! It sounds like it will be too wet to pick corn this weekend, but I want to encourage all of you, who can, to still show up. Kevin has put in a lot of work to have us be at his place to have fun with our toys. I know how much work it is, as I had a corn picker show at our farm last fall, at a much smaller scale than Kevin's. I will be at Kevin's farm on Sunday with my favorite picker and all of my corn picker literature for you to check out. Also, please bring a favorite picture of your corn picker and/or story that could be in the corn picker book, which I hope to have completed by this March. See you on Sunday, CornPicker Bob
I just got back. Yep, it was chilly, but I met some great people, saw some great old pickers, and had some fantastic food too! They did get to pick a little towards the end there, and they're expecting to do more tomorrow. If you can folks, I highly recommend showing up for this one. (I traveled 125 miles to get there, so no excuses!) Here's a couple pics too.
Had a great time at corn picking day in Walnut Il. Met old and new friends, picked some corn and heard some great corn picking stories for the book. THANK YOU Kevin for this weekend and now get some rest! CornPicker Bob
