The above photos illustrate some of my best memories about using a two-row mounted picker and opening a field. You weren't above the corn, you were in it. Rows on either side were almost within reach. Looking forward, no horizon was visible, only a sea of khaki brown that touched a blue sky. Looking back, a narrow corridor seemed to close in the distance. There was no turning around or backing up. About the time one began to wonder when the rows would end, the snouts pierced through to the end rows and the surrounding countryside was visible again.
Those pictures turned out great ! I know you said that you got some good ones of breaking lands and the one of looking back at the crib turned out great! I'm really looking forward to next year, my wife and I should be done moving and settled in Blandinsville, IL and I'm looking forward to bringing my WD and the New Idea picker to the show! Kurt
Do you have the superpicker or is it the trailing husking bed type?. I have a wd45 with a ford dearborn on mine that i need to do some serious work on for 2010.Like to see pics of it. I ned to figure out my digital camera and scanner . maybe i will be able to post pics of mine
I'm going to take a few digital pics of some Ford picker parts I have laying around here that might get you running. I don't like to junk useable stuff, but then there are limits to what I can keep, so if I can find it a new home . . .
I've got the new idea #7; see the pics on previous posts, or check ot the link to the you tube clip. It's the first time I've run one, and I had a blast! Kurt
i got a NI#7 and a two row mounted dearborn too..I ned to get one of the pulleys that drive the left side gathering unit and need the big belt that drives both gathering units. thanks in advance.
