An IH tractor, pulling a New Idea picker, filling a John Deere wagon - nice! Where did you find the wagon, complete with factory tip-top extensions? Does it have a John Deere hoist under is as well? And the picker - it looks really good now considering where it was when you found it!

Actually I think thats a Massey tractor pulling the picker. Correct?

I've got the same picker, looks good. Doesn't look like it's shelling too badly like mine is. I noticed the guy I got mine from ran a weld up the snapping rollers-- a common practice form what I understand if they're a bit worn out. The problem is that it seems to tend to shell a lot more on me. Yours welded at all?

I figured mine lost about 14 bushels an acre due to shelling.

Yeah - now that I look at it again I think it is a Massey.

Thank you. The tractor is a 1529 Massey Furguson . The JD wagon is a 1065 with 7X12 Hieder mfg for John Deere box and a Midwest hoist. I bought the wagon used in the 1980's in Mt. Pleasant , when I was growing seed corn and we were still picking it with Uni's. The # 7 didn't seem to shell too bad , the snapping rolls have been welded on. Don

That's a 7 x 12 "Mfg for John Deere Co." box? Take good care of that - you don't see very many 7 foot boxes like that! Most of them are 6 foot boxes.

And did Heider make boxes for John Deere also? I have a brochure and price list for these wagons and it says "Manufactured by Giant Mfg. Co. of Council Bluffs, IA" on this literature. Then I have another brochure that looks exactly like the first one except it doesn't say anything on it about Giant Mfg.Co. Did Heider buy out Giant Mfg. somewhere along the line?

it sure is good to see this old equipment brought back to life and not cut up for scrap.
