Thanks for posting the dates of the picker days.

Now would be a good time to start working on our pickers to have them ready to pick corn.  I know I need to do a few things to my picker, how about some of you guys.  Lets make a list of thing to look over on our pickers.

I know I need a new belt on the 324 NI . . . should check fan bearings, too.  Check gathering chain idler sprockets for wear and looseness . . . have to put the straightened snoot back on . . . 2 wagon elevator paddles found when emptying the crib need to be reattached.  I have some early-planted 85-day open-pollinated that will be ready to pick right after Labor Day!  I need it to sell to the deer hunters, too.  Last year's stuff will be gone by then.

Which county is Walnut in? When I put in in Mapquest to calculate distance, it comes back that there are 2 Walnut, IL in 2 different counties.

You want the one in Bureau county about 60 miles east of the Quad cities off of Illinois route 92.

Hello Everyone ! The address is Walnut Ill. 61376 There will be signs at each end of town and a picker at the end off the street to turn on ! Route 92 is the main road that runs threw town .

The corn is coming along nicely , in fact it maybe too dry ! Last was too wet ! Starting to sound like farmer , just never happy!

Also working on putting up a wire round crib to shell out , plus our portable one like last year , and drive over dump pit to keep those shellers running !

Any can bring a tractor o to hauling in , or we need some more wagons ! Cause that RFP Petre from down south likes to run! I think he wants to try for a new personal best of 25 or more loads in a short day!

This year my cousin that that flies a Air Force refueling jet is going to drop him in a load of gas and a ham sandwich so he can keep going !

Hope you all are making plans to come and have fun with yes all !!

CDJDG aka  Pickerman Charlie is on the documenitry crew! He get a back pack with a sandwich , and fresh batterys for filming!

The corn was power checked planted two to a hill and looks great ! It is a short hybrid and 22000 pop. so hope it will pick easy !

Kevin, 25 wagon loads not going to a problem.  Charlie's wanting to do a little movie maken with lights, so tell a couple of the wagon haulers to have the lights working.

Tell your cousin that I want tomato, lettuce and a slice of cheese on that ham sandwich with Miracle Whip, chips and a diet coke would be nice also.

What size wire crib did you find? and how many bu. will it hold?  Sounds like I'm making you go through a lot of trouble, so I cam meet my personal goal.

Now! I might want to start putting some more new parts on my picker so I don't disappoint a lot of people.

Sounds like your getting things lined up for a great picker day.

I only get a sandwich because when I order fries Kevin eats them all before I can have any. (Two picker road trips confirm this) I will have the battery packs ready to go. Ron I will have my night vision glasses ready for night picking.biggrin

Kevin If there is anything else I can do to help let me know.

I plan on coming your way still Kevin. Things are starting to slow down for work and I might be able to have some time to get things back in order. Just today I have mowed my 2nd field of hay if that says how busy it has been. I need to get the Moline H320 cleaned up and lubed up and still need to find a flapper for the top of the elevator before this years fun. The picker has been sitting in the same spot since I got done picking 1000 bu last fall for my neighbors cattle. I just need to find a creative way to get it up there, I guess it isnt much farther than Rantoul to pull it!

Hey thats a thought, I guess you dont have any yellow tractors to pull it with that arent already under a picker. That might work! Are you taking anything to Atkinson? I see you need to be a member to participate, I guess that counts me out, unless dues are cheap. Maybe I will save up $$$ to put on a BIG show in Rantoul next time. I am still working on the cabless A4T-1600 Plainsman for that show, along with a 6 bottom onland hitch MM plow to run behind it. I'll call sometime and catch up.

PS I will be in Northern IA next week if anyone needs a set of eyes for anything up that way!
