Hello everyone. This is my first time posting here but several of you already know me. I want to tell everyone of the upcoming Antique Harvest Days on the north side of Ottumwa, IA on Saturday and Sunday, October 9 and 10, 2010. There will be corn picking, corn shelling, combining corn and soybeans and also antique grain handling. Among the working machines will be a John Deere GP tractor and No. 10 corn picker, a Waterloo Boy running a Sandwich corn sheller of about the same age, and a John Deere Inside Cup Grain Elevator that will put the corn in the crib. There will also be newer machines of all brands and a John Deere elevator with cable operated wagon lift operating as well. We hope everyone will come to Ottumwa that weekend and feel free to bring your machine as well. Or come and operate one of the machines at the show. We are there to make memories! Hi Don. We are planning on bringing some equipment that will be at the Harvest Days. The GP tractor I mentioned along with the No. 10 picker should be at Old Threshers. I have plans to bring my 620 and 227 picker. The weather might throw all of us a curve. But we do plan on bringing flyers to pass out. Mike
That is a good show I had a great time there last year and I posted some of the pics. here on the forum last fall. I know alot of you guys are busy at that time of year but if you can squeeze it into your schedule it is time well spent. I will also be at Old Threshers in Mt. Pleasant with some pics. from last years picker days. I will be over by the 1936 A with #25 picker which I got going for them last weekend and will be driving in the parade during the show. I posted some pics. of the "A" with # 25 push picker.

Mike, your on the east side of 149? and you planted wide rows, north and south of your house, I think I have the right place. Charlie told me where to look on my way from my uncle in Holbrook.
How many acres did you plant in wide rows? Corn was looking good when I seen it back in the summer.

You are right about where the fields are but they are not mine. I am on the board for the Harvest Days but the fields belong to Dave Cobler. The corn is in wide rows and is a conventional variety. Last year we had triple stack corn and it absolutely refused to be picked. The stalks were too hard. This year it should be better. Mike
