Well it is almost here the picker days for Walnut Illinois is next weekend ( Oct. 23rd and 24th). At 8:30 am there will be an operators meeting. At 9:00 we will have the national anthem and fly over, followed by hand picking By Don Mckinley (who has qualified at the state and national level) and myself and mechanical pickers after that. Kevin is going to see if he can talk Ron (RFP) into doing a demonstration on removing and attaching the gathering unit of his 234 picker on his IH 560. On Sunday there will be a 12 row seed corn picker to pick one pass and side dump "on the fly" into older wagons. At this time we are expecting about 40 pickers for this show. We hope to see alot of you there. Here are some more pics. from Bob Johnson's show.
Oh is that this coming weekend? I might want to start putting on the picker! I need to change the oil in the tractor and get the light on the back or get Charlie to bring a flash light.
I picked a little corn today, so I'm ready for my little show Sunday after noon. I have a few people that want to see some corn being picked. So the tractor and picker should be warmed up for Larkey's show.
Well Boys it is getting close to show time so hope to see alot of you come have fun with us !! I think we have a lot of other things to watch and do or just doing things with our pickers to have fun with ! RFP and Picken Nick are going to pick at night ! Picking and shelling on the go also a 12 row OXBOW Seed corn picker picking and being caught using old wagons on the go !
Also If I put up enough money RFP might show us how to take his 234 off and back on under twenty minutes ! Also have some craft things for the women to look at also corn sand box for the kidds to play in also a milking a cow for the little kidds , well maybe Carlie can do that for us TOO !!!
Don Mackinzie who qualifiyed to go to the National hand picking is going to be assitted by Carlie again to keep his talents for milking the cow !
