Called Quarters Inn today for hopefully a block of rooms for some of us corn picker nuts at Ratoul, all booked up, but they will put you on a list in case of a cancellation which they said it happens often. Didn't get a chance to call other places as this should have been my day off, but was called in and have been running behind all day about 2 hours. Had a great time in Moline. CornPickerBob
Show is Aug. 25-28,2011 I'm glad I booked our rooms when we were out there for the I&I show last july. We were quoted $100.03 per night for a double room.

I'm considering camping close by. I dont know if the campground on the SW corner is booked or not. I have a old International grain truck I am bringing anyways and thought about setting up camp in the bed. Need to rig up a tarp for it incase it turns out like last year.

Been doing some leg work on rooms in the area an not much worth a hoot left in Rantoul. I did get a deal on at the new Wingate in Champaign, IL about 15-20 minutes from the show. All are non smoking rooms, Two queens or one king for $81 a night tax included. You can cancel within 24 hrs prior to your check in. Has indoor pool, work out room whirlpool, hot complimentary breakfast that varies each day.
I can get a block of 10-15 rooms, but i need to know what you guys think and how many are interested.
Rantoul doesn't offer much in the way of food or night activities. I'm thinking Champaign might be a good choice.
Let me know as soon as you can, i need to get back with the hotel to confirm the block of room.
I`m all in with you Nick that seems to be a good choice ! Camping would be alot of fun if the camp ground is set up nice and good showers ! Two years ago it was so hot on one day and you needed a shower big time to wash off that dirt - after picking in the heat ! Then the next day you needed shelter for the down pour of rain ! Then you needed a good shower to wash off the real mud ! So I `m in with what you are saying !!!
Besides Charlie says theirs a Hooters in Champaign !!!!!!
Here are the details for the block of 15 rooms I reserved at the WINGATE in Champaign, ILfor the 50 Years of Progress show August 25, 26 ,27 and 28 2011 in Rantoul, IL under the name of "Corn picker Association". Use this name to secure the room rate.
The room choices are 1 King or 2 queens. Roll away beds are available for an additional $6. The rooms are for Wed. (Aug 24) night thru Sat. night, August 27, 2011. The final cost of the rooms are slightly less than $81 per night.
There is a complimentary hot breakfast that opens at 6:30 each morning. We can all get together to go out to eat somewhere each night if we choose to. There is an indoor pool and other amenities at the hotel. We can also hang out in the breakfast area at night if we choose at night for whatever reason.
You must reserve your rooms by August 3, 2011. After that, any un-reserved rooms will be returned to the normal price. You can cancel your reservation within 24hr advance notice without any penalty.
11.0%, Sleeping Rooms are not tax exempt in the state of Illinois.

Talked to the WINGATE today, there are only 3 rooms left. I added 5 more rooms to our block to make it a total of 20 rooms.
Looks like we're gonna have a great turnout of "Pickers". I think we may have some space to put up a small shelter to relax and chit chat at the show grounds. hope we can all park the equipment close to that shelter..
Hey, Charlie, checked with Hooters and they aren't open for breakfast. Sorry bout that sir!!

Hey Nick is that Double Queen room $72 per person or $72 for two people ? I would be very tempted to change my reservation if that's for the whole room.

I just got a room booked this morning at the Wingate. They told me there aren't too many rooms left. It is a $30 savings per night with the corn picker group. Better hurry if you want in at the price quoted. We will be at Rantoul for a couple of days. Maybe we will run into some of you folks there. Mike
