bought another corn picker today. got it home thought it might be model after the side elevator ih. but after a good look it is the side elevator ih. i had one out back that i have had for a while, can't find a serial tag on either one. who ever changed this last one to a rear discharge was good. the real good thing is everything missing on my other one is there on this one. i have never looked into this picker to restore because of so much missing. all info anybody has will be helpful. model years made. has a shaft going up the side of the elevator to drive from the top.thanks chris k.
If it is a 2 row side elevator it is a Model 2P. According to the book "150 Years Of International Harvestor", the 2P was first built in 1938 and was succeeded by the 2PR in 1953 through 1974. Production of the 2PR totalled 1,493 units. I'm pretty sure that they made a 1P and a 1PR also.
