I decided with the price of corn to pick some so we quit chopping at a 100 acres. I set out to find a picker and after a month a 325 new idea appeared on craigslist $750.00
Finished picking 20 acres yesterday and have plenty of ear corn piled up for the winter. I think picking is very relaxing compared to the full tilt modern farming.
I am in need of about 6 of the finger assemblies anyone know if new ones are availiable from someone in the U.S.A. thats honest.Or a source for good used ones or could a guy make them out of aluminum or steel ?Seams like the used ones are over priced for something thats 30 years old and brittle.
Search thru past postings on this forum - there were 1 or 2 outfits advertising that they made new fingers for a reasonable price but I think the jury is still out as to whether they are any good or not.
