That is one **** of an idea!

Do you have any plans to put a roof on the crib? I would also consider building a walkway alongside the conveyor, to be able to service it.

Yeah we are planning on putting a roof on it.  The corn should keep so much better in it, plus we should be able to put more it that way.  As for a walk way, I never thought of that.  Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Was it a little rough out there?  I'm surprised you still have elevators on your pickers.  Mercy!  Mike

Great videos!! Thank you for putting them together and sharing them. What tractor do you have mounted with the 319?

Absolutely crazy AWESOME idea for the corn crib!! What a great find and glad you are using it!!

I haven't ever seen a crib like that, but I love it! Was it a homemade job? If so, what an engineering feat!

Well MR. Wingnut That was awesome simply awesome !! The whole video was great and adding the music to it was great !!
That crib is also awesome , if those where built in mass quantity years ago there might still be more picking done .
I am glad to see stuff like this put to use and it must be a great feeling of how it came out , I know it was a lot of work for all of it !

So What else ya got ?????????LOL

Wingnut you did a great job on the video and loved the music you picked out to go with the video.  You need to do more video as good of job as you do on them.

What do you do with all the ear corn?

Ron

Those are great video's. Loved the corn crib set up. Maybe next year when you get ready to pick and fill the crib post on here. I know some guys that would love to go on a "field trip" to see that operation in action. (Kevin,Ron and I am sure a bunch of other guys on this forum.)

Loved the corn crib. Reminds me of one set up similar fashoin in a late 40s or 50s farm journal but it also had a fan.Was that a D 17 on the picker? Couldnt tell from the distance.Id rather hear the machines run myself but still great video!=)

Thanks for the comments guys.  Yes it was rough out there this year.  I was mainly in the deere so I didnt feel it as much, but when i hauled out a few wagons on the D17 I felt it WOW!!  The tractor under the 319 is a WD45.  Yeah the crib is amazing.  Yes it was all homemade by the guy we purchased it from and his father.  I actually enjoy doing it this way.  Not everyone can say that they harvest corn with a picker.  I havent decided yet what I will post next.  I will probably do a video of shelling next spring.  That is what we do with our ear corn.  We have a MM 1210 and a White 1210 corn sheller that we use.  I will post a comment on here when we get ready to pick next year. Thanks again guys.  Love reading the comments.

Well Mr. Wingnut , since u seem to have a few nice cribs and have the desire to play and work at this would U be interested in holding a picking show next year ? I have talked to a couple of friends on here and we think u would be a great candidate to hold a picking show ? Several would come to help you do your work, picking to hauling in to my even do some shelling if you would like !!
I would be available if u would like to talk or get ideas!! U can contact me on here or send a private message with your number and I will call you back !!
If not you have got some great things going there!! Kevin
