John Deere 18 picker

Just got this yesterday.  Was a good trip about 3 hrs away.  Didn't like I had to bring it home in the dark with a trailer not quite up to dot specs.  All went well and ran it today.  I may try to post more pics.  It will be used just to play with and for show, but it is in good working condition.  I would like to repaint it and find an older JD (620,630) to run it.  Start of my collection of pickers.

Nice picker you found there - not a lot of those out there anymore! I see a White planter in the background of the first photo - what model is it? (just curious - it looks like it might be set up for 20" rows and I'm looking at different brands/models that can be set up that way).

That is my 8 row 20" planter.  White 8600 frame added 2 more row units.  I run a IH 8 row 20" head on the combine, IH 800 gearboxes.  When I plant a little for picking, I will fill every other rows on the planter for 40" rows.  Maybe just an acre or two just for playing with the picker.  Hope to get it repainted.
