I finally became an official corn picker owner today. I bought a 1-row New Idea from a friend of mine today. He thinks it is a #10, but I don't know. where would I look for a serial/model# tag if it is a #10? Thanks, Dale
Cogratulation, the # should be on metal plate mounted verticlely under the PTO in front of the fan on the front side of the outside angle iron . I have a#7. Don
Congrats on buying your corn picker!! Will the picker be used for actual farming or for "play" farming, as my wife calls it? I own a NI 323 one row picker, NI 319 mounted picker, and newly acquired IH 234 mounted picker. The 319 mounted picker was used for actual farming before my dad retired from farming. The collection of pickers also means having enough wagons to pick with. I even bought a MM corn sheller.
Have fun and enjoy your picker! Hope to see some action pictures of the picker!
The 10 is an improved 7 most basic things I think are the same, but somethings like the lift lever made better. Go to the AGCO on line parts book from the lot# you can tell what year it is , and compare #7 & #10.
The picker will probably be used to play with mostly. I thought it would be nice for my grandkids to se what a cornpicker really does. Already have plenty of small gravity wagons and seems like here lately several flair-bed wagons have"followed " me home. Finally, don't hold your breath too long waiting for pictures, I can barely get words to show up on here!! Thanks for the information and replies. Dale
