The past few Saturdays, I have had the chance to pick a little with my new to me IH 234 picker with both the husking bed and sheller. The 706 and 234 picker have proved to be a good combination. The picker runs well, better than I expected. This picker has been sitting inside of a shed since 1976 and I dont believe it has picked a lot of acres when it was being used in the early 1970s. My dad and I didnt run into anything major while bringing this picker back to life. There are quite a few people to thank for all of their input, advice, and muscle, but there are two guys I could not have done this without; Richard for the 706 and my dad for all of the big and little thingsTHANK YOU!!
Hopefully, I will be able to have a picking day at the farm yet this fall to have a little more fun before I have to put the picker away for the season. But the rain is sure nice!! I guess there is always next year!!
