Getting ready to build a wood corn crib. Would love to see some pics of wooden cribs to get some ideas on how to build one, and the best way to get the corn back out of the crib when Iam ready to grind it for feed. Thanks
We built a small one awhile back.Used the wooden body off an old grain wagon.Set it up on blocks, put in a metal perforated floor from an old grain bin and rigged a squirrel cage fan up to push air through high moisture grain. We angled the floor from the sides down to the middle, where we mounted a 4 inch electric auger.Cut sections out of the auger tube so the corn would self feed. Auger hangs outside the body about 2 feet right over a platform scale with the switch mounted to make sacking deer corn a one man job.Can also move the scales and set up another auger to transfer grain to another container if we want to haul a larger amount.Sorry, no pics. .I don't own a digital camera.
