Round corn cribs

Hi guys,

Somebody could help me with some plans of how to build a metallic circular corn crib? I am from Belgium, Europe, my parents in law are small farmers in the country side of Romania and would like to help them finding a better solution for stocking corn. In Europe corn cribs are only used in the South, and are usually linear, difficult to maintain and use. More over, they are taking to much place in the farm.

I have found some general plans of round cribs (that look typical for the US), but cannot find out how to build and install the air tunnels allowing air to circulate. Is somebody having some good pictures or plans of how to make them and how / where to install them?

Before stocking the corn into the crib, are you using some machines to extract the humidity or I can directly stock it in the crib?

For the linear corn cribs, in Romania the "rules" (usages) are to build a crib of maximum 1m large, if non, the humidity is not leaving the corn and it is rotting it after 1-2 months. What are the usages for the round corn cribs? What dimensions insure a good aeration and conservation of the corn?

Any suggestion and advices are really welcomed,

Thanks,

Nadia
