Here is what I came up with.

volume = radius x height = 6.75 x 23 = 3436.7 cu ft

1 bushel = 2.5cu ft. ear corn

bushels = 3436.7 / 2.5= 1374.6 bushels

This does not include the roof cone.

Please double check my math. Sometimes the fingers get in the way when typing!!

When selling ear corn is it better to sell by weight or Cubic Ft. ? Do you weigh a bushell and deived the load on truck by this. Can you measure the truck bed Length X width X height =cubic Ft devide by 2.5

I'd say the math up above will get you close.

There are other factors to consider, such as the moisture content of the corn when you filled the crib, how clean the corn is when you fill the crib, test weight of the corn and if you fill it way to the peak.

You could easily shell 1500 bushels out of that crib if it is heavy test weight, picked clean and was around 20% moisture when it went in.

If you are contracting x amount of bushels to be delivered this summer after you shell it out, I wouldn't sell much more than 1350-1375 bushels to be safe.

You may have missed it this is ear corn I want to sell and it was at 19 percent when it went in the crib in Oct. we are getting 4.00 a bushel for ear corn.

You sell ear corn by weight 70 pounds/ bushel. Usually when the moisture is within a couple of points of 15.5 there is no shrink, also you can get a premium for ear corn
