my dad has a 1930 allis chalmers one row sweet corn picker he would like to sell, but has no idea on the value. He will be sending me pictures, and I will post them when I get them. What price range is appropriate? This apparently was only made in 1929 or 1930, and there aren't many on them left. Richardjhead@gmail.com
It's all a matter of the right guy coming along with an itch to buy such a machine. In other words it is worth scrap or parts salvage price till that buyer comes along. Two things to do are be prepared to sit on it if you want to make more than scrap price and advertise it in an Allis Chalmers collectors publication. If I had to guess at the high end of value for something that does not have good original paint would maybe be 700 dollars. Hopefully, a collector will come along to get it before the scrap dealer gets a shot at it.
