New 2ME

Bought this 2ME on Monday. Hope to get it home soon. Found this thru a post on Facebook. It was advertised on craigslist. It is a very very nice picker that has not seen many acres. Its still polished up even. Has been inside in a heated/cooled shop on car dollys. Came with many extra parts along with mounts for an M and an F20. like new M&W super snoot for an M and even a super snoot for a F20. Going to mount it on our Super M to get it home, then thinking about mounting it on one of my F20's so we would then have 2 F20s with 2MEs.

Went and looked at this 2M a couple weekends ago. Has been inside till around 5 years ago. Asked but they didn't want to sell. Will keep trying though, son wants to get rid of it but the dad owns it.

First glance I saw of it I knew I couldn't leave it there! Did a little more work on the Super M tonight, just have to move the wheels out and put the cylinder rockshaft on and I should be ready for the picker.

Dan, How was the picker stored?  Meaningwhere were the dollys located under the picker? How did the original owner keep the two gathering units apart while in storage?

Will try to get more pics when we mount it to bring it home. The dollys are the 1foot square ones with 4 little wheels on them. There is one under each snapping roll point and two under the lower subframe/stand in back ( under the 3 inch pipe). He has a small ratchet strap holding it together in the middle, other than that its free standing. Looks like a nice way to store them on concrete. Should be able to push it by hand out to the open where we can mount it.

Dan, That would be great to see some pictures of how he has it setting on the dollys. As you describe it, it sounds very handy to have on concrete to move around. Keep us posted!!  Thank you!

I love to see someone find something that old, that is in such great shape. There's just something about the looks of the 2ME & 2MH. Yes, I'm envious just a tad!!

Small update: Have the Super M ready to go. Going to call the guy with the picker and see if he's around tomorrow to start mounting. Snowed lastnight and early this morning so pic is a couple days old.

Update:

Hauled the Super M up to the guys place Sunday afternoon as the roads were going to get slimy. He even put it the tractor inside for us.

Yesterday (Monday 11/30) we went up and mounted the gathering unit. Not going to put the rear subframe on or elevator on as it will be coming off the Super M and going on one of the F20's. Went pretty well almost too easy as compared to what my girlfriends dad and I are used to. He had the picker off the dollys setting there on concrete ready for us to drive the M in. Had some tall sawhorses to set the rear on the units onto as we raised to lower subframe. Had to remove one headlight to have clearance. Enough yapping on to the pics.

Wow it isn't every day you get to find and mount a picker in that kind of a shop. Looks great. Thank you for posting.

Thanks guys! I would love to have a shop/shed like he has. But the down side I would fill it to quick. The dollies were for cars. He said they were previously under a Camaro. Lol. Hope next year to have a 560D w/234, MD w/2MH, and 2 F20s w/ 2MEs all in the same field.
