Picked up the next piece of the collection before Thanksgiving, found it from a post on Facebook. Multi-Purpose Grinder unit for a 234 picker. They are pretty hard to find in my opinion. Its going to need a good going thru before fall but planning to try it out on dads 1206.
Bring Multipurpose, this unit can be convert between a grinder, cracker, or sheller. A few parts need to changed out to switch but once you have the parts its fairly simple.
The ears are fed into and the kernals shelled off, the kernals are then augered into a det pf cracking rolls which are adjustable for size. Then elevated into the wagon auger. The cobs (after kernals sgelled off) are pushed into a burr wheel which grinds the cob in small pieces. The burr wheel is also adjustable for the size pieces ypu want.

Nice find! And it looks to be in good shape as well.
I'm not an IH picker expert by any means, but if they are as hard to find as a grinder unit for a New Idea mounted picker, then I would say it is rare as well.
Dan, just curious, was that from a small cattle feedlot south of Minden, Iowa? There used to be something that sort of looked like your unit sitting there. I'm a New Idea guy, but good find, and good for you for saving it.
