Here are some pictures I took while picking corn this fall. I have a 234 on a 706 and it does a great job of picking!! I custom pick for an elderly farmer who has organic ear corn. He plants around 30-32 acres a year.
Adam, Thank you. A couple of years ago I had to put some money into the engine so at the time my best value was that I found a 301 engine with about 100 hours on a complete overhaul that was done at a reputable dealer. So my 706 is turning out 100+hp with the bigger engine. Lots of guys have written about the larger gas engine "drinking gas...or terrible fuel efficiency" but so far I can't complain. I know it uses a bit more, but running it on the picker the field consumption has not been terrible.
How did the organic corn yield? Awesome outfit. did it shell much? According to the wat to check it, my old #7 new idea shelled about 14 16 bpa. I bought a used 325 super picker and it paid for itself in shelled corn savings
