Picking Corn
(Preview)
What a great little website! Seeing pictures of picking corn brings back a flood of memories, from short sleeve weather to 20 below. If only those days could be lived again. Like the time my dad was sick and my uncle was running the picker and mom was hauling in, waiting and waiting, from a distance,for...

Farm-Rite Picker
(Preview)
I have an older FarmRite corn picker. It's a 1 row - semi-mounted machine that fits on the back of and 8N or early 100 series Ford. It is from the late 40's. I THOUGHT it was a David Bradley or Dearborn, but ti is not like either of those machines. It still has the decals (somewhat) on it and it says "Farm...

2-MH/2M-HD brackets for 706/806
(Preview)
Anybody know where sets of these are? I saw a poster on here say he was moving his 2-MH from 560 to his 706, I take you have brackets then? I would love to run my 2M-HD on a 706 eventually as I plan on buying one. Would it fit on a 756 or 856 since the tractors are virtually the same? Brackets for the 06 series...

New rubber flight on elevator chain
(Preview)
I was wondering if anyone needed new rubber flight for the elevator chain. On my NI 300 it was missing a few and they are all wore out. I took a utility knife and cut the sidewall out of a tire and used it to make some new ones. Now it can haul 3 ears up. The old ones would haul up one ear. I just took a grinder to the...

New Idea eats corn
(Preview)
I have a New Idea 300 and only used it twice. I hope to use it this year but I noticed a little problem last time. On the front where the corn gets pulled in by the 2 rollers they are supposed to pull the stalk down and then rip the ear off. I noticed the ear would go right down with the stalk on about 1/3 of the stal...

Has anyone ordered this? I have their video of Power From the Past, taken at Rantoul, IL., with the 3 steam engines pulling the huge plow (about 2 inches deep, with some bottoms not even in the ground), but other than that not a bad video, EXCEPT for the inane yapping of the announcer, who must feel that w...

Shelling corn with a JD 43 Sheller

I had a part load of ear corn left that wouldn't fit in the cribs when I picked corn earlier this fall. So I got out my John Deere 43 corn sheller, set it up and shelled the corn on the wagon. Worked great! I sure wouldn't want to shell thousands of bushels like this, though. I bought this sheller over 10 ye...

Hi Everyone. I'm just joining this forum so bear with me.
I grew up on an IH 234 mounted on a JD 3010 Diesel and have spent many an evening washing corn shucks from my neck.
I've recently acquired a JD 237 that was on a 4010.
Will it mount on my JD 730? I've had yea's and nays. Help?
