I am a small operation but too big for hand picking I am looking for some Ideas if they are available on how to turn a 1 row regular picker into a sweet corn picker, I was told it was possible, but they didn't know how, I can't afford a actual sweet corn picker due to size, would appreciate any help Thanks Nipster
You'll end up spending a lot of effort to make a machine that won't quite do it right. The snapper rollers are the problem, and you have to eliminate the husker. You may be better off taking a stripper-plate style row unit off a John Deere 40-series corn head and putting together your own picker with some rubberized belt conveyors.
