Saw one for sale in a magazine. Run by a V-4 Wisconsin, mounted on a cart, to be pulled between picker and wagon to shell in the field. Never saw or heard of such a thing. Any info?
I saw one in a pic online from a farm show. i dont know their value butdoes sound like a great idea. Obviosly there were not too popular or there would be dozens lieing around.i saw a pic and thought it was homemade.
There was one at a farm auction about 8 miles away from me last winter. It looked complete but I couldn't turn it over by hand so it probably had some seized-up bearings. I don't know what it sold for - it was froze down in the corner of the machine shed so they sold it where it sat. That meant that it was the absolute last thing they sold at the auction and I didn't feel like waiting that long. (It was one of those days that it got really cold and blustery by mid-afternoon and they had already spent 3 hours selling the little stuff!) It would be an interesting piece to restore and take to a show but I didn't need another unfinished project lying around!
That sounds right. That's where I got my corn picker. I must be crazy or something because the temperature started in the 20's that morning and got down close to zero by the afternoon. The picker finally sold around 4 or 5 o'clock. I stood outside all day waiting for them to sell the picker. I know the sale bill said there was a pull type sheller. If the sheller was in the shed that would explain why nobody could find it out by the corn pickers. There was also a 300 John Deere picker but those go for far more than I can afford.
