For anyone who is near SW Minnesota.... I will be shelling out the 2 cribs I filled last fall (check my posts from last fall for pictures). I plan on shelling one on Saturday, Sept 12 and the other one on Saturday, Sept. 19. If it rains either day I will shell that crib out sometime during the following week. If you are interested in coming to watch or help my cell number is 507-920-9474 - call and get more details. Or e-mail me at tflitsales@myclearwave.net. I plan on using my John Deere 71 corn sheller and will put the cobs and shelled corn in several of the vintage wagons I own. I'll probably bring over my 1B hand sheller too if anyone wants to "play" with that for awhile. I will also get some pictures taken and post them here later this fall.

Well, we got the 2 cribs shelled out over the last few weeks.  I finished the last one yesterday and got everything cleaned up before the rain moved in today. Here's some pictures of our "fun".....

I haven't got it all hauled in yet but it should be around 2200 bushels out of both cribs together.

 I wish I could have been there to help you guys.  I don't know of anyone around here that ever shelled corn that way.

Hey, now that everyone is fired up about shelling corn lets all head about 50 miles west into South Dakota.biggrin  I've got roughly 6000 bushels to shell sometime in the next couple of weeks.  I'm hoping my son will talk some of his college buddies into helping.  I'm pretty sure they need to make some beer money!

Are you shelling out the cribs behind your picker in your avatar picture? Take some pictures of your shelling operation if you have time - I'm sure we'd all love to see 'em!
