Ron thanks for sharing the pics of you and your family on your "picker day". It looks like you have a good crew there. I got the "high speed" film in the camera ready for you this weekend.

Looks like a great day of picking! Very nice line up of tractors and equipment!! Some day I would like to own an IH 234 picker. My dad and I use to have an IH 2MH and was so glad to get the NI 319 picker. It was much easier to put on than the 2MH. What do you use the ear corn for?

Kirk

RE: Petree Family Picker Day

Thanks guys, it was a great day for picking corn and it's always a perfect day when all the grandkids come over.

Kirk, I grind the corn for my calves and some I sell to cow men that will grind it for cattle.

Charlie, I hope you don't for get the flash light.  I still have not got around to getting the back light on.

Ron

Petree's, Family Picker Day (Shelling Pictures)

I've had this sheller for a while and this is the first time I have had it on to do some shelling.  So today 10-27-10 is the day I'm going to try it out.  I did some looking over and found the bearing at the bottom of the auger out, so I put in a new bearing and off to the field.

The trash in the wagon is from the wind blowing so hard that anything coming out of the picker is going into the wagon.

I'm keeping my back to the wind so I don't get a face full of dirt.

First load of corn this old sheller has shelled in years. Don't look like it forgot how.

Ron looks like the sheller is doing a great job for you. Those are some really great pictures thanks for sharing them. It has been really windy around here the last couple of days also.

Nice pictures! I always like seeing pictures of sheller units at work. I also like your "clamps" for holding the spout over the wagon!

Thanks for sharing those great photos of the sheller in action! I kind of got the itch to look for a 234 for myself. I wonder what will be more difficult-finding one or convincing my wife I have to have it? I also like your photos that include your wagon!! Interesting way of keeping the auger in the wagon. Is that the way they all were or just something you did?

Looks like the sheller did a good job.  Also looks like the corn was very dry!
