Here's some pictures of one of my projects from this past winter. My son and I disassembled this wagon box down to its individual pieces and disposed of what was left of the rotted-out wood floor. I cleaned all of the metal wagon pieces with a wire brush wheel and primed the smaller support pieces with Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer. After priming everything, I painted all of the painted parts either red or black, depending on what color each part was orininally painted. The galvanized parts I removed dings and dents as best as I could and after wire-brushing these also, I primed the areas that had been rusted with gray metal primer. Then I painted all the galvanized parts with Rustoleum Bright Cold Galvanizing Compound. Then we started re-assembling the wagon, starting out with new 2x6 tongue-and-groove treated lumber for the floor and using new hardware purchased either at Mac's Hardware or from Fastenal. There were a few hardware items I had to clean up and re-use because I cound not find any suitable replacements. I had the decals made by Jeff Hintz of eConsign, Inc. and after the weather warmed up (for a few days) this past week I pulled the wagon outside and installed them. The box is finished for now - when I locate a set of original stakes and keepers for putting a set of tip-top sideboards on this wagon, I will paint them to match and install them as well. I have an Electric running gear I want to clean up and put under this wagon, and I'm still trying to locate and Electric-branded hoist to put under it. Hopefully I will be able to pull this all together by next winter and end up with an all-Electric brand wagon.
