Corn Picker tent at Rantoul

Hello, Corn Picker friends.

Max Armstrong & Darius Harms approached me about highlighting corn pickers at Half Century of Progress show this year and a tent was suggested. I offered to bring picker posters, some literature and a DVD player showing old factory films and recent picker events. If the tent is big enough, I could bring the Great American picker that I was lucky to find a few years ago and was told that it was never used.

Pickin-Nick heard about the possibility of a tent awhile back and made a great suggestion to locate the tent where we park our hard working pickers and talk about them when not in the fields. Darius & I thought that the main exhibit area would be too crowded. Daruis suggested the corn shelling area which I agreed with. Pickin-Nick also suggested that maybe we could have cold water at the tent for the pickers.

I will watch the tent for most of the time, from Noon to closing every day. I was hoping you guys could help out in the morning. If you have any suggestions, or have something to share in the tent, or could help out for just part of the morning, please contact me.

Take care & God bless, CornPickerBob  815-761-3709

This is basically what I am trying to put together at Rantoul highlighting tht IH 234 picker.  I have not got a single call or email on it yet. We are going to have posters and literature and hopefully several 234 pickers and different processing units.  Look on the Half Century site or call me 812-878-7226

Hello, friends.
As I mentioned before, I was planning to show DVDs with picking corn. Pickin-Nick thought it would be a great time to promote our Corn Picker Forum. I will bring our laptop with wireless internet to show what we do, so does anybody have a small generator that they could bring down to Rantoul in case there is no power at the corn shelling area? Thanks, Bob 815-761-3709
