A little Rantoul Recon Work

Stoped by the west side of the grounds today to do a little crop tour.  Here are a few ears from today 8-1-11.  Should be just right by the end of the month!! Not quite black layered yet but getting close!

On another note, it looks like they planted several more acres to corn than in the past too. Took a tour around the whole grounds (outside the fence of course) and didnt hardly see any beans planted anywhere. Good for us picker guys!

Those don't look like terribly big ears.  Is that because it is very early maturing corn or did dry weather affect it?  Mike

Looks like the size of ears they use to harvest with our old pickers...

Granted I have a big hand (I'm 6'7") but they are only about 6" long. If I recall they were only about that size last time in '09 though. Not real big around either though, I think about 14 around.

Planning on bringing my MM H320 Picker and my Oliver G1355. Might be bringing the M670 I had last year and something to pull with it. Working on Hagie (my employer) to bring a vintage Hagie sprayer also.
