Did you try Country Machinery? Contact info at the top of the page. Are the slats coming loose at the rivit? If you put new chain in, replace the ends on the slats, too, and tack weld them to keep them from coming loose.

Yes the slats are coming loose and one of them is bent. I tried welding it, but they kept braking and hanging. I had one break and the chain came off and bent the finger assembly in the corn saver. There is a guy on ebay that has a complete chain assembly with slats for $100.00, but it says that it fits a 327. It has a different part number (711757) vs. the one in my 323 book (301445). If I knew for sure it would fit, then I would buy it.

Can I get the ends of the slat new??? and where???

327 chain is wider than 323 because it's for a 2-row husking unit.

If it's 55 chain, there are flat attachment links available. I haven't been 'in' a 323 for a while, so I don't remember what it uses.

It should be a 55. You might find replacement links at an older machine shop in your area. My local welder sold me his entire supply of replacement links, all "new", including right and left paddle links, several 10 foot coils of regular links, and a bucket full of miscellaneous stuff, for a fraction of new price. The lot included 55, 62, and a smattering of other sizes. Pop and I replaced the drag chain on an AC Rotobaler a few years back and spent a lot more. Might be worth looking around a bit.

O.k. I see the 55 chain. Now I just need to find the slats. Any ideas???

Measure them, get the right size steel, cut to length and drill holes.

My local welding supply sold me his entire replacement of the link, all the "new", including the left and right paddle link, regular link several coils of 10 feet, and debris bucket, a small part of the new price.
