Hi just wondered how some of you guys are testing your ear corn for moisture content before harvest. Thought it would be neat to see what other guys are using. Thanks
Moisture tester? Around here most implement dealers and farm supply stores sell moisture testers. They have gone up a lot in recent years - a person used to be able to get one for $125-$175 but now even the cheaper ones are $3-$400 and they go up from there. That's why using the one at the elevator (or a neighbor's) is a good plan if you only have limited acres of corn and need to get a test only a few times each season. Or check out Craigslist - I would think someone would have a used one for sale this time of the year.
