Here is a little bit of picking as I finished up before bad weather set in (high winds and heavy rain) here in Indiana on Nov. 13. Trying to get it in before it blew over. Didn't take pictures when using the 701 Uni like I should have when I used it a few days earlier, but here are some with the 325 2 row and the 3010.
I also included a picture of a music album (from 1965) of the Country Cutups (Dallas,TX based group) that performed the old country standard "Shuckin the corn". Two of my favorite hobbies - old country and bluegrass music, and "picking corn." Both of which take us back to a simpler time in rural America. Work songs and doing the work. Haha. Everyone have a good Christmas season.
Those are some loooooooong rows. Our equipment wouldn't know how to act without all the hills and terraces. What kind of bushels per acre is that 325 picking, and how does it handle it? You have a nice looking setup. That album cover is a great touch.
THose tricycle jd s are good looking tractors. It would look real good with a mounted picker too! lol. Got a one row pull type and a two row mounted myself. havent got to use the mounted so dont know how much i am going to like it. Used to have a 325 and that was a great picker too. Paid for itself in shelled corn savings
That tractor may be getting a mounted picker on it soon, as I recently bought a 237 picker close to home. Hope to be getting it home in the next few months.
Bleeding Orange,
I believe the corn was running around 165 bu/acre, pretty good for this year considering the dry summer we had. The picker has the 8 roll husking bed, so I didn't push it too hard.
