I have a 323 picker and it is a one row picker. It has a husking bed not a sheller unit on it. I use mine to pick in 38" rows so I am not sure how it would handle 30" rows, probably pretty well though. I believe the 311 was made right up until the end of New Idea closing up shop on the picker factory.

I need some info from some of you guys on here knowledgeable about these New Ideal pickers.
I'm going on Saturday to look at a model 311 with a 314 sheller attached, supposely in real good shape. I am assuming this is an earlier model that the 324, 325, etc models that I see. Is this correct? Also, would this be a wide row or a narrow row machine? And lastly, again assuming the machine is in good shape, are my chances pretty good that I could harvest a few acres of corn for a few years without much fear of trouble out of it?
310 is a one row that came before the 323. 311 is the 2-row wide gathering unit that came before the 324. 312 is the 2-row narrow gathering unit that came before the 325. 309 was the 1-row snapper (no husker) that was produced for the 20 or so year period that all these various pickers were offered.
