After months of searching, a few hundred miles or so, a couple of what the "hells" was I thinking, and more rolls of the eyes from the wife than I can count, my IH 234 picker is mounted and operational. I have sure learned a lot. I do have to thank my dad for a little help along the way. He is in the last picture, attaching the rope to the picker for the deflector. Now to wait for the corn to dry down so I can run the picker through the corn.A local tractor guy is coming down again this fall to pick some corn with his JD 227. So I guess I am having a corn picking days at the farm in SE MN this fall---nothing compared to the Walnut Corn Picking Days. If anyone in the area wants to come on over to pick some corn, let me know.

Kirk, that second picture is worthy of framing, with the barn and yard in the background. That picker sure looks at home on that tractor. Both are straight and sharp. Excellent job--it looks like you depend on your Pop like I do mine.
Looks great! Glad you got it done! I ran into Don this summer and he asked me if you got the rig mounted. Let me know when you are picking, I will try to make it up!
My dad has been great to have. He has been through the battles more than I have so he is a great resource!
Jim-I will let you know when corn picking will take place. I am roughly thinking about the first weekend in October. We will see how the corn dries down and how the weather is. I will keep you posted.

hey krik that a nice looking rig now u need a ih barge wagon and running gear lol there is a guy about 10miles from me that is ear picking this week has a few cribs full

I can't believe corn is ready to pick and put in the crib, but it has been dry and been drying down nicely. Maybe I can sneak out to try the picker out and see how the corn is in the next couple of weekends.
haha ya the corn is way better then guys though a buddy of mine tested some corn he chopping and they said it would have avg 160 - 200 if picked or combined so it dang good and yes krik i know where there one at lol but uncle started milking at two places now so it goin to be on saw dust duty for sometime lol sorry
Kirk that looks great , just a add a super snoot on the front and you can pick till your wife drags u off !! LOL just teasing Is that a later model 706 or a conversion on the shifting leavers for that tractor ?
The 706 is a early 1966 model with the shifter conversion. A previous owner also had the adjustable steering on it but I would like to get rid of it. The supersnoot is going to go on next. I am nervous that the picker won't lift as high with the snoot on, but we will see when I get a chance to get out to the shed.
