Has anyone ever heard of a century products co. wagon hoist.  My grandpa has one in the grove.  It has an oil resevoir on the side with a lever coming out of it.  I am assuming you pump that handle to lift the hoist and then you don't need any tractor hydraulics.  Century Products Co. is the only writing stamped on there that i can see so i am assuming that is the company that made it.
