Crib Width

Been trying to  find some info online about what width to build a wooden corn crib but cant find a answer for my area. Iam located in southwest VA. I was thinking about one about6 foot wide, but i would like to start picking when the moister is around 20% or a little less. Do you think that it would be ok?

We have 2 cribs , one is 5 feet wide,40 feet long, 12 feet high with a roof over the top wih a 15 feet wide drive through the middle Holds around 800 bu each and can put 30% corn in it. The other crib is 9 feet wide,95 feet long,and16 feet high. Has a roof on it and is very easy to fill and I sit on the tractor seat to load it out. Holds over 5000 bu , just cant put corn in above 25% and must have cool nights and days . Both cribs are made out of wood and have concrete floors.

The next crib I build will be wide enough to get a skid-steer into to clean out. I'm getting older everyday. I would think 6'-7' wide would be OK for you.
