An idea... (How to)

As I was starting to remove my 2ME the other night I had an Idea..

How much interest would there be if I typed up some step by step "How To's" on IHC corn pickers????

I can do 2ME, 2MH, and 234 as those are the ones im familiar with mounting.

Will most likely do 2ME first as I have a lot of pics at the moment.

Dan,

A good idea. I tried to take pictures of my mounting of the 234 I have, but they didn't turn out. I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Fantastic idea. Start with the 2MH first!

Sounds like a good idea! As the years go by, the number of people who know how to do this keeps dwindling. I'm sure there are collectors out there already that want to buy (or already have) a mounted corn picker in their collection but have no clue as to how to mount the picker on a tractor. Most mounted picker manuals are a bit sparse as to all the specifics about mounting the picker. They all assume a person has a certain amount of basic knowledge about how tractors and mounted pickers work. If you have never been around any of this, a lot of it doesn't make sense. So if someone would do a picture-intensive set of instructions on how to mount a picker, I'm sure there would be interest.

Great idea. The first picker I bought, I hauled my tractor to the farm it was on and me and the farmer spent the day mounting it. If it were not for the knowledge he imparted on to me I would've been lost. The manual will only tell you so much but it leaves out many little tips and tricks to make mounting/ dismounting easier. Not to mention illustrations from a 1950's or 60's manual are marginal at best. Do it now before you're married with kids!

I took quite a few pictures when I started getting my 3020 ready to mount the 237 on it in April 2014. Screens, undercarriage, driving into it, etc. Maybe not super detailed, but a good remembrance of it. The owner gave me good guidance when we put it on. He helped his dad put it on their 3020 when it was new until they stopped using it.

I will try to get them in an organized format...

Thanks for the comments guys!! Starting to type up a 2ME how to, at the moment. Could one of the moderators get it permanently stuck to the top of Forum when I post it so I doesn't get lost?? It will make it easy to find for people searching.

Dan
