Garst & Thomas were from my part of the country and were well known as growers of Pioneer Seed before the Garst's stepped out on their own in the 1970's. Also, Roswell Garst(who is featured in the film) hosted Nikita Khruschev on their farm when he made his famous visit to the United States.
