Well I have a guy that owes me some money and he was hoping to clear it up with this. Whats it worth? Offers?? Has to be a collector. Haven't seen a single Oliver Picker-sheller for sale. What do you guys think?
From a quick Google search it appears to be from the mid 60s. What it's worth? That's always the million dollar question. Does it work properly? Any parts or pieces it might be missing or needing will affect the value. If you are looking to turn around and sell it right away " Best offer over scrap price " would probably move it down the road. However if you're looking to get top dollar you will probably have to sit on it a while and there might be a collector out there that would give you somewhere in the thousand dollar range for it. That's about the best I can do for you, maybe someone else has more experience with Oliver equipment. In my experience I have found with this old equipment there is a pretty big price range depending on location, condition, and buyer's transportation and the actual value is whatever someone is willing to give you for it.
I can't tell from the pictures if this is for wide or narrow rows. In many parts of the country, a narrow-row machine will be worth a bit more because most people now have 30" rows as opposed to 36"-40" rows. It looks pretty much complete from the pictures but that still doesn't say if it runs out OK or not. I'd say find out what it weighs, start with scrap price and move up from there. Any machine can turn from a bargain to a nightmare very quickly if you have to buy very many expensive parts for it, or the parts it needs are no longer available.
I bougth an Oliver 83 picker husker four years ago for two hundred dollers it works great . Don't know what your picker/sheller is worth ,but if figure out what you want to for it post it here .
