My "new" M

IMG_0610.JPG

We got a picker tractor on the ground! My friend ("farmall51" on YouTube, who owns a gooseneck) his wife and I went weekend-before-last to Rock Falls, IL to pick it up.  It's a 1950, has a M&W cable shift 9 speed in it.  So far it looks to be a good tractor. Now to start bolting on picker parts!

Congratulations on getting what appears to be a very nice M. They are awesome old tractors. I have my New Idea 2 row mounted on a Super M with a M and W hand clutch. I am also lucky enough to own a Super MTA. Good luck and good picking!

My

The only thing that concerns me is it had 14.9-38 tires. Wish they were 13.6s. I'm hoping that won't cause a problem on 36-38" rows.

RE: My "new" M

My Super M has the larger size tires and my planter is set on 36 inches. You cant be doing a lot of texting while picking but it really hasn't been a problem for me.

Good to hear.....I can tell it's going to be tight but I really want to keep my rows no wider than 38."

38 inch rows should work great.
