New Idea 324 Question

I'm looking at purchasing a 324 picker/sheller unit.  I've noticed on some 324 units the drive shaft has a carrier about halfway down the shaft and these seem to predominantly be on the husking bed models and not the sheller models.  Can someone enlighten me as to why?  Do the husking beds put more stress on the driveshaft?

Thanks,

Jesse

Perhaps because the husking bed AND the sheller unit are in the same package.

But, I honestly do not know, other than I would think that the sheller would take a few more horsepower to run than just the husking bed.
