Long post just so you know. I hitched my Wood Bros picker up to the DC Case, fired it up and everything ran except the wagon elevator. It seems the shaft on the rear that drives the elevator and the ear kickers above the husking rolls has lost whatever holds it tight on the slip clutch and it just pushes out t...

New Idea 6A

A friend of mine recently picked up a New Idea 6A picker. It appears to be basically the 2 row version of the No. 7. He originally bought it for parts, but it seems to be all there and in really good shape. I suggested that he might consider getting it running instead of parting it out. Just wondering if...

Oliver #5 Sinle row picker

Hello.. I just purchased an older Oliver No. 5 Single row corn picker... I have been told that by placing a sheet of tin or metal over the husking bed they will pick corn without removing the husks, which is my desire. I never used a corn picker before and know very little about them. My question is? Has any...

Storing ear corn in a hopper bottom bin
(Preview)
Has anyone done it? Thinking of setting up a hopper bottom bin with an air tube and a fan for next year. Ran out of room this year, and had some issues with a crib. Trying to set up something that will make it easier to handle ear corn to run it through the mixer.
