Anyone still feeding ear corn.
(Preview)
Hasn't been much activity on here lately and I was wondering how many guys are still picking and feeding corn. In my area growing up in the eighties seemed everyone fed their cattle out this way. Now it's almost a forgotten thing. We are still doing it but why do you guys think most have given up on it? How m...

Question about a Heider steel barge box wagon
(Preview)
I recently purchased a Heider barge box wagon made of galvanized steel instead of the more common wood. It appears the non-galvanized parts were painted green of some type. I hope to repaint these parts in the future and was wondering what color of green to use. It is on a John Deere running gear and w...

Open pollinated field corn and an AC 36 picker
(Preview)
Will my AC 36 pick open pollinated field corn? Also, my husking rolls are missing the rubber nubs. I have read where some folks have cut strips of old car tire and attached them in place of the rubber nubs. Anyone have pictures of the rubber from old tires after attaching to rolls?

Farmall 706 with New Idea picker

I removed an Ertl Precision New Idea picker from the A-C D 17 and mounted it on a Precision 706 that had been converted to narrow front. The major rework was modifying the axle brackets and replacing the paddles above the husking rolls with the usually-seen flexi-fingers. I got the finger wheels and op...
