What do you plant with??
(Preview)
Noticed its been pretty slow around here lately, I suppose every one is busy with spring field work. Figured we could get a little discussion going. We bought a 7000 John Deere 4RW a couple weeks ago at auction. Fixed the markers and marker pivots up as they were junk. and checked everything over and it r...

New to picking got questions....
(Preview)
Ok, it'll be pickin' time soon and I have a couple of questions. First of all, what is the maximum moisture content of the corn that I can pick and bag up in poly feed sacks that spoilage isn't a concern? Also what is the minimum moisture content that shelling in the field shouldn't be a concern with my NI...

IH 1PR snapping rolls
(Preview)
I have an IH 1PR and I get more shelling at the snapping rolls than I think there should be. Is there somewhere that rebuilt or even new snapping rolls can be bought? Is there something that I could do myself to help make the rolls work better? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Does anyone have pictures of a 2MH on a 706 or 806? I think I've seen a picture in the parts book but not sure. I have brackets so hopefully I can find a 7 or 8 to put the 2MH I just bought on. restoring my John Deere Co. Barge Box

Here are some pics of my late winter/early spring shop project. I bought this wagon 5-6 years ago and disassembled the sides from the bed almost right away after I purchased it. I parked it in my shed with the sides and ends piled up on the bed, thinking I would get to it later that year. Well, we all know how...

Im working with my ration for feeding out dairy steers and beef cross steers. I have a Gehl 95MX mill. Corn Picker cleaning and shine
(Preview)
Dan Robinson you got me thinkingwhat do any of you do to your corn pickers to keep them clean and shiny? I know sitting in the shed they collect dust, and they do get dirty when they go out to the fields. So what does everyone do to clean and maintain a corn picker's appearance? I have used a leaf blower to d...

I went to the Red Power Roundup in Union Grove, WI and while there rode up to Manawa, WI to pick up my 2MH. Found it on Facebook back this winter. It's been outside for about a year but looks to be sound. It's missing a few small parts, but overall it looks good! It's going to be a long term project, as of no...

New idea 708 air conditioning problems
(Preview)
Looking for some advise on checking the air in my 708 Uni. Just got it today and checked everything over and the only thing not functioning is the air. It came from Iowa so air wasn't that important but down here in South Carolina we have to have it. I cleaned the filter for the a/c and replaced it but I'm not...

My new wagon

Picked up this wagon at an auction last week. Didn't really need it, but the price was right. Has anyone else ever seen plywood sides on a wagon like this? Redneck corn crib

Call me crazy, but I just had an idea for a corn crib. I think I know where I can buy an old cotton wagon that has the wire cage sides on it. It also has tandem axles front and rear. This about a 35' long by 8' wide rig. It seems to me if a man made a roof for it, and put some vertical supports toward the middle of the w...

Mounting the IH 2ME Corn Picker (How To)

I have decided to do a few "How To's" on mounting IH corn pickers. I am doing these to hopefully help someone who has a picker but does not know how to mount/unmount a corn picker. I will start with the 2ME, work my way to the 2MH and then finally the mighty 234! Mounting or Unmounting works the very best on ha...
